London, July 26 (IANS) The much-anticipated James Bond film
"Casino Royale" will have a royal world performance Nov 14 at
the Odeon Leicester Square here, a trade
charity of the film and television industries announced
Wednesday.
"'Casino Royale' is the chosen film for the 60th royal film
performance," the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF)
said in a statement.
"Marking the CTBF's 60th anniversary of the royal film
performance, it is tremendous that 'Casino Royale', the most
anticipated film of the year, has been chosen as this
year's film," said CTBF president Stan Fishman.
The film will be released in theatres across Britain and the US
Nov 17 .
The royal film performance is
usually attended by either the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh
or the Prince of Wales.
"Casino Royale" is based on Ian Fleming's novel of the same
name. Published in 1953, it was the first book in his James Bond
series.
The film is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli
and will mark the introduction of Daniel Craig as the legendary
secret agent 007.
The current run of royal film performances began in 1946 when
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth took princesses Elizabeth and
Margaret to see David Niven and Marius Goring in "A Matter of
Life and Death".
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh attended royal film
performance of the last Bond movie "Die Another Day" at the
Royal Albert Hall here Nov 18, 2002.
