Cook offers written apology to save his marriage

New York, July 26 (IANS) Peter Cook, supermodel Christie
Brinkley's disgraced husband, has issued a public apology to his
wife after cheating on her with a teenager.
According to hollywood.com, in a statement issued by his
attorney, Norman Sheresky, Cook breaks his silence about the
scandal, which has ended his marriage to Brinkley, for the first
time.
In the statement Cook writes: "I am sorry. I am contrite. I am
stupid. Foolish. No excuse. I love my wife. I have loved her
since the day I met her... For a lifetime, I've tried to prove
how much I love her."
Cook was disgraced when news of his affair with 19-year-old
Diana Bianchi went public at the beginning of the month.
Bianchi, a budding singer, has since come forward to confirm the
romance.
However, Sheresky says: "He got
involved, in over his head somehow, and he wants to make it up
to her for the rest of his life. He hopes there's no divorce. If
she wants one... it will not be nasty. She can have whatever she
wants."
