Hollywood film news on July
Oliver Stone defends 'World Trade Center'
Indo-Asian News Service
London, July 25 (IANS) Filmmaker Oliver Stone is defending his
new movie "World Trade Centre" after the widow of a firefighter,
who lost his life in the rescue efforts, slammed him for making
the movie.
According to contactmusic.com, many survivors of Sept 11 have
supported the film but some are not happy with the fact that the
movie is coming so soon after the terrorist attacks.
Stone says: "I can understand why
she would be upset; this goes on in movies a lot but you have to
do these things sometimes because they are important.
"It is a healthy movie, a clean movie. It doesn't offend. It can
hurt, it can be hard to go through, you can cry but I think
you'll come out cleaned and healed. There is something to be
said about facing the fears, confronting them, demythologising
them."
