Now a phone game in Madhavan's name
By Subhash K. Jha, Indo-Asian News Service
Mumbai, July 9 (IANS) Actor Madhavan has been signed on by an international company to launch a mobile phone game in his name.
"It's a game by Paradox - one of the biggest game companies in the world today. And it's called 'Madhavan's MIG'. It's got a series of lifestyle games. Like how a guy can date a girl and how he can take her out, or how a girl can date a guy... And they've signed me on exclusively. No other Indian actor has been signed for the game," said Madhavan.
Three major mobile phone companies in India have signed up for the game. According to Paradox, Madhavan has been chosen because he is text-savvy and has also contributed extensively to the game.
"I've been a text-savvy gizmo freak for a long time. And yes, I've contributed to developing the games for Paradox."
Meanwhile, the actor, who is popularly called 'Maddy', moved into a new home in Chennai last week - on the same day that he signed this prestigious deal. He has shifted home from Kilpauk to the boat club area.
"It's like the Malabar Hills in Mumbai. We needed a much larger place, especially with my son Vedant toddling around. Also, my parents live with me. And my wife Sarita's parents are also over quite often. We needed a larger place."
Madhavan's close friends from the Tamil film industry who were invited for the house-warming ceremony included Mani Ratnam, Ajith and wife Shalini, Kamal Haasan, Vikram, Surya and Jyotika.
