Anger over Burstyn's 15-second Emmy nomination
Indo-Asian News Service
New York, Aug 10 (IANS) Actress Ellen Burstyn's nomination for a
best supporting actress Emmy Award is being slammed by the US
media.
.
According to imdb.com, Burstyn, who stars in "Mrs. Harris", a
HBO drama, with Sir Ben Kingsley, appears only for 15-seconds in
a flashback sequence and her character
is listed as 'Ex-Lover Number Three'.
The New York Post says: "Her performance required her to do
nothing more than sit in a chair and speak three sentences of
dialogue in a vaguely foreign accent."
The paper went on to claim that the nomination is indicative of
a deeply flawed process.
