Grohl makes good on promise to Aussie miners
Indo-Asian News Service
London, Aug 31 (IANS) Lead singer Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters
is going to fulfil his promise to have beer with two rescued
miners in Australia.
According to contactmusic.com, Grohl had sent a message to Todd
Russell and Brant Webb when they were trapped in the mine
saying, "Two tickets to any Foos show,
anywhere and two cold beers." .
Grohl sent the message on the 11th day of their ordeal, after
learning that they had requested Foo Fighters' songs on an iPod
to help them drown out the drilling sound as
workers sought to rescue them.
Grohl says: "I was willing to foot the bill to have them come
half way around the world just to hang out and have a beer, and
then it turned out they couldn't come. I'm not
having just one beer with those dudes. We're going for it. This
is going to be a big night.".
