The emporium was renovated at the cost of more than Rs.10 million with a view to attract both domestic and foreign tourists, an official release said.
The emporium provides a window to a diverse range of gold and silver jewellery, fabrics and furnishings, handloom products, paintings and musical instruments and other products.
The emporium, which gives space to artisans from Delhi including national and state award winners, also has a wide array of silk saris, marble products, aromatics, shawls, copperware and brassware, leather products, wood carvings and souvenirs.
The Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation (DSIDC), which runs the emporium, has joined hands with the Delhi Travels and Tourism Development Corporation (DTTDC) to provide a cafeteria where visitors can also have information on the capital and its rich heritage through books, CDs and tourism promotion materials.
Dixit, accompanied by Industries Minister Mangat Ram Singhal, DSIDC chairman V.V. Bhat and other officials, went around the emporium and evinced keen interest in the items displayed there.
