'A Mighty Heart' was a
great experience: Alyy Khan (INTERVIEW)
By Shweta Thakur,
New Delhi, Nov 26 Actor Alyy Khan, who has an important
role in the Hollywood flick "A Mighty Heart", says working with
the film's cast and crew was a great experience.

The actor, who has worked in movies
like "Escape from Taliban", "Stumped" and "Shhh", is excited
about the film based on the life of slain Wall Street Journal
reporter Daniel Pearl but refuses to talk about his character.
"It was a great experience. I am playing an important character
in the film but cannot talk about it right now," Khan, who was
in the capital, told IANS in an interview.
Pearl was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002 while
investigating Islamists in the aftermath of 9/11. Actor Dan
Futterman plays Pearl. Hollywood star Angelina Jolie plays
Pearl's wife Mariane.
Khan, who's relocated to Britain, recently finished a series
"Sharpe's Challage" for ITV (Independent Television) and "The
Bill" for BBC.
"In 'Sharpe's Challenge' I am opposite actor Sean Bean. The
series is based on the East India Company. It has been shot in
Rajasthan and I am playing the lead character of Lt. Mohan
Singh," said Khan.
"In 'The Bill', I play a character called Tariq Mustafa-Ali. It
was great fun and a learning experience working in these
serials," he added.
For Khan, it doesn't matter whether he's walking the ramp,
acting in films or television. What matters is just good work.
"I just want to do good work. We all are human beings and I find
that no one is really simple so I want to enact complicated
roles. I am looking for interesting characters not challenging
ones. An interesting character may or may not be challenging."
Apart from his acting, Khan has acquired skills like horse
riding and swordplay. But he says he is always cautious about
safety.
"The knowledge I have gained helps me concentrate on other
aspects of acting. But I always ensure safety and avoid being
stupid," said Khan.
Not many, however, know that the intense actor is quite
superstitious in real life.
"I respect most superstitions. I have few quirks like I never
walk under a ladder. Why mess with fate?"
Though Khan is interested in directing films in the future, he
has no concrete plans right now.
"I would love to write and direct but I am not actively working
towards it now. Except life and my baby ... nothing else is in
the pipeline."
