By Manissha Despaande, Indo-Asian News Service

"It is part of my plan for next year. I have been trying to work out a film with Sanjay Dutt for sometime and I have zeroed on a script that will be ideal for him," he says.

The film titled "Bhrasht" is among the many films that he is planning in the serious genre. The director, who has acquired the reputation of a comedy-specialist, recently expressed his desire to revert back to serious filmmaking, reports Bollywood Trade.

"Kyon Ki" was the second film in the genre but it didn't do well at box-office. On the other hand his comedy, "Garam Masala", was a crowd puller.

He admits that the experience hasn't disillusioned him.

"I am aware of the fact that I cannot please the audiences every time. If anything, I don't want to be stamped with one kind of cinema. Why does everyone keep forgetting that I initiated my way into Hindi films with 'Virasat' and 'Gardish'? " he says.

Currently he is working on Shahid Kapur, Kareena Kapoor, and Sushma Reddy starrer "Chupke Chupke", a love story with an undercurrent of humor.

His next release is "Malamaal Weekly", which is scheduled for an early 2006 release.

Nikhil Panchamiya to make a thriller

After his last release, "Dil Maange More", producer Nikhil Panchamiya is all set to make a thriller with big stars.

Javed Siddiqui, who wrote scripts of hit films like "Solider", "Baazigar" and "Darr", has been roped in to write the film's story, reports Bollywood Trade.

Panchamiya who is keeping a discreet silence on the project, is said to have signed a well-known director for the film. He is currently in the process of finalising the cast of the film.

Meanwhile, Siddiqui is looking forward to the release of Pankaj Parashar's "Benares" written by him.

"It is a film revolving around Hindi mythology which depicts the conflict between materialism and spirituality. The film delves into an altogether different realm of life though it is a simple love story," he says.

The scriptwriter is also working on an Indo-Pak collaboration titled "Tere Liye".

"It is an intense love story across the border," he says.

Pakistani actor Humayun Saeed has been confirmed to play the lead role in the film.
