Film distributor lines up Hollywood releases

Mumbai, Dec 3 (IANS) After the success of its maiden release venture in India, "Monster In Law" starring Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek, a Mumbai-based film distributor has lined up around 30 Hollywood films.
The firm, Multivision Multimedia India (P) Ltd, is now readying its second outing - director Brett Ratner's "After The Sunset" releasing in India on Dec 9.
The company has packed six films including "Hostage", "Crash", "Matador" and "88 Minutes" to be released in the coming months.
It aims at providing a platform for those Hollywood producers who are independent of the big studios and thus lack the financial and marketing expertise to sell their movies in countries like India.
Sanjoy Makhijani, a company director, said in a press statement: "Our vision is to get the best of Hollywood movies to India across the genres. There's a huge segment of independent producers that we wish to facilitate, who fail to release their movies here."
