Jaspal Bhatti pays artistes with onions

Chandigarh, Oct 23 (IANS) Heard of actors getting paid with onions instead of money? That is what comedian Jaspal Bhatti did here - to focus attention on the spiraling prices of the vegetable.
Having ended the shooting of his film "Jeejaji" (Brother-in-law), Bhatti decided to publicly reward the artistes with baskets of onions much to the amusement of onlookers.
It was Bhatti's way of poking fun at the government's inability to control the prices of essential commodities.
Many of his friends from his Nonsense Club were by his side to be part of this satire on the spiralling prices of onions.
