Nothing wrong with skin
show: Anupama Varma (INTERVIEW)
By Arpana, Indo-Asian News Service
New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS) She was one of the top models in the
country but failed to achieve similar success in Bollywood.
After remaining in oblivion for a long period, Anupama Varma is
all set to shine again on the silver-screen in "With Luv...
Tumhara".
The film is about a young girl trapped between love and grief,
says Anupama who had made her Bollywood debut with Jackie
Shroff's "Grahan" (2001).
"I'm playing Neha, a bubbly vivacious character who has a spunky
attitude and joie-de-vivre. The film is likely to find favour
with viewers. It is a glamorous character and I'll be seen in a
completely new look," Anupama told IANS in an interview.

Anupama shows a lot of skin in the film but she justifies it
saying that glamour is high on demand in films today.
"See, cinema is changing and viewers' demands for glamour is
going higher and higher. We have to change accordingly. Many
actresses are doing skin shows in movies and getting popular.
So, for a makeover I'm doing it as well.
"I think there is nothing wrong with it so long as it is within
the limitations. My father was a deputy chief of the air force
and I would hate to do anything that would embarrass him."
However, the film promises to be a departure from the clichéd
boy-meets-girl and boy-loses-girl drama canned so routinely on
celluloid, feels the actress.
"It generates a renewed confirmation that selfless love can
survive and thrive in a selfish world. It emphasises the need to
give happiness to others. The main protagonists in this
emotional film share secrets and the essential conflict that
they face helps to shape up a poignant love story."
The film also stars Preeti Jhangiani, Pravin Dabas and Nakul
Vaid. Anupama says she enjoyed working with them.
"It was a joyful experience. All of them are good and during the
shooting we became good friends."
Anupama also featured on the small screen recently.
"I had gained good experience by working in some serials. I did
some episodes in 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin', where the audience
loved my character. After that I did 'Rishton Ki Dorr' and 'Ek
Ladki Anjani Si' as well."
Anupama had done an item song in the Kareena Kapoor-starred "Chameli"
and is doing a special dance number in "With Luv... Tumhara" as
well.
"The 'Chameli' number was shot very classily and was good enough
for me. In this film, there is a song picturised on me and it's
being promoted as an item number," said the actress.
Anupama has more projects in hand, including some South Indian
films, but her ultimate aim is to own an advertising agency.
"I have done MBA in marketing and finance from the Faculty of
Management Studies, Delhi, and my ambition in life is to start
an advertising company on my own."
Produced by Rakesh Bhhatia under his Bhartiya Global Infomedia
Ltd and directed by Kamal D. Nathani, "With Luv... Tumhara" is
slated to hit the screens later this month..
