Bengali superstar injured during shooting

Kolkata, Dec 29 (IANS) Prosenjit Chatterjee, Bengali cinema's reigning superstar, was injured during the shooting of a film in a studio here Thursday.

Studio officials said the injury below Prosenjit's left eyebrow was not serious. The actor was hurt while shooting for "Desodrohi" (Traitor) directed by popular commercial filmmaker Anjan Chowdhury.
The shooting was on in one of the many studios of Tollygunge.
Witnesses said Prosenjit was shooting an action scene when he lost his balance and fell down, sustaining the injury. He was taken to a doctor immediately and given some stitches.
Prosenjit, son of yesteryear's romantic Bollywood hero Biswajit, has a huge fan following in West Bengal.
Tollywood, the Bengali film industry that uses ill-equipped studios in the Tollygunge area in south Kolkata, banks heavily on the actor who can churn out a hit after hit and is a big draw among rural cinema-goers.
Prosenjit has also acted in some Hindi movies.
