'Loading' bags award at JNU film festival
Indo-Asian News Service
Thiruvananthapuram, April 21 (IANS) Raj Divakaran's "Loading", a three-minute movie about the negative impact of videogames on children, has won the best film award at the first short and documentary film festival organised by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

"Full of blood and brutality, videogames subtly load violence upon kids and that's the storyline of the film," said Divakaran who works as creative director with a British TV channel in London and was here when the award was announced Tuesday.
There were over 100 entries, including Pakistani films, at the festival and out of those, "Loading", which tackles the relevant issue, was declared the best film by a panel of judges.
The film's storyline was inspired by the annual report of the American Psychological Congress in 2005, which reveals that children who are exposed to videogames are prone to violence. According to the survey reports, videogames today are the second largest entertainment industry in the world with an annual business of Rs.45 billion.
"Loading" will be screened at select campuses in the country.
The festival was organised last week in New Delhi by JNU in association with Max Mueller Bhavan to provide a platform for upcoming filmmakers and students to interact with prominent film personalities and critics.
