Premiere of Sony's new serial

Mumbai, April 28 (IANS) Well-known television actor Kanwaljeet was shooting in Dubai and couldn't make it to the premiere of Sony's new serial "Aisa Des Hai Mera", in which he plays an important role.

Producer Manish Goswami organised the premiere of the Lekh Tandon-directed serial at the Firangi-da-Dahaba in Mumbai.
The first episode of the soap, about a British girl, Rusty, searching for her roots in India and fighting to be accepted, was shot. The serial's cast and crew including Soumya Tandon, Pawan Shankar, Bharat Kapoor, Manav Vij and director Lekh Tandon were present Monday.
Sony's chief operating officer N.P Singh, vice president on air programming Anupama Manoli and vice president on new programming Gursheel Walia attended the bash.
'Desi dhol' (rural drum) players entertained guests. Now that is what we call celebrating the 'desi' style!
