'Jaan-E-Mann' breaks another record
Mumbai, The buzz is that Sajid Nadiadwala's big budget, star
studded "Jaan-E-Mann" will release in more than 250 screens in
just Mumbai, more than "Krrish"
and "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" that had hit approximately 200-plus
screens.
Set for a Diwali release, this Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and
Preity Zinta starrer earlier set a record by fetching a
never-before sum of Rs.70.4 million for the distribution rights
for Mumbai territory.
The various distributors who bought
the film for a record-breaking fee are not yet selling it to
sub-distributors.
"Touchwood, the film is so hot in the trade. I'm confident that
our brand Nadiadwala Grandsons, which stands for complete
entertainers, will fulfil everyone's expectations with the
release of 'Jaan-E-Mann'. I'm sure everyone will benefit from 'Jaan-E-Mann',"
said Nadiadwala.
He has also ensured that the best theatres and screens are
available for his patrons.
"Jaan-E-Mann" is Shirish Kunder's first directorial venture and
Nadiadwala has invested Rs.400 million, a never before for new
directors by even the biggest banners.
" 'Jaan-E-Mann' is definitely a hot proposition and its true
that we are planning to release the movie in as many as 250-plus
screens in the Mumbai territory," said Denis Selarka of Shree
Astavinayak Cinevision Ltd, the Mumbai distributor for the film.
And the release of the Rs.4 million trailer has further fuelled
the buzz about the film being the biggest release for the
festive season.
With Nadiadwala's good box office record and the deadly team of
Salman-Akshay, who created a storm in "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi", "Jaan-E-Mann"
is indeed the hottest Diwali flick.
The buzz is just getting bigger and better.
Nadiadwala to complete 'Jaan-E-Man' by July 15
IANS
Sajid Nadiadwala, one of Bollywood's most successful producers, is working non-stop to complete his much delayed "Jaan-E-Man" and says he will wrap it up by July 15.
His determination can be judged from the fact that he continued shooting "Jaan-E-Man" even during the heavy rains when others had stopped working. In fact, Nadiadwala has been living in his van since the last schedule of "Jaan-E-Man" went on the floor.
"My final shooting schedule gets over by July 15 and by then 'Jaan-E-Man' will be complete. Last year, because of 26/7, I had to dismantle the set and this year's heavy downpour brought a sense of déjà vu but we continued the shoot.
"We only cancelled it for a day but this won't mean that the shoot will get delayed further. I have been practically staying in the van and definitely the film will be complete by July 13," said Nadiadwala.
Incidentally, Nadiadwala's sharp business acumen is set to change the economics of Bollywood. "Jaan-E-Man"
is getting record-breaking offers from all the territories
Nadiadwala's 'Jaan-e-Mann' ready
for Diwali release
Sajid Nadiadwala, who has given hits like "Jeet", "Judwaa" and "Mujhse
Shaadi Karogi", is gung ho about his forthcoming "Jaan-e-Mann"
that hits the screens Oct 20 during
the Diwali weekend.
Nadiadwala decided to screen "Jaan-e-Mann" during Diwali after a
meeting with his distributors, reports Bollywood Trade.
" 'Jaan-e-Mann' is now arriving on Diwali. We have just
confirmed the release date with the exhibitors," said Denis
Selarka of Ashtavinayak, the Mumbai distributors of
"Jaan-e-Mann".
Talking about the title of the film, Nadiadwala said: "I decided
to add two hyphens after 'Jaan' and 'e' because it's easy to
pronounce the title. It has nothing to do with
numerology."
Directed by Shirish Kunder, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Salman
Khan and Preity Zinta..
