Dick Tracy battle on hold

London, April 6 (IANS) Actor Warren Beatty's efforts to secure the rights to the "Dick Tracy" comic book character continues to drag on after a US federal court hearing ended without a ruling.
Beatty, who produced, directed and starred in "Dick Tracy", wants to make a sequel to the 1990 movie, which is being blocked by Tribune Media Services, said contactmusic.com. They claim that they own the film rights to the character.
Beatty argues that he has the rights since he made a deal in 1985, and sued Tribune Media Services last year. The judge, however, did not indicate when he would decide on a ruling on the matter.
