Gore promotes TV as communication tool
London, March 13 Former US vice president Al Gore said
people must be given a chance to put their own views across to
the world through television.
He believes a more "democratised" TV is needed to "give people a
voice", reports contactmusic.com. He was speaking at the launch
of a new TV channel in Britain that will be created by and for
18-to-34-year olds.
He said: "It's part of an effort to democratise the television
medium and to give individuals a chance to put their own
perspectives on television; that's really what it's all about -
viewer created content.
"It's designed to give individuals a voice. People make
television about what's going on in their lives, in their own
voices. We want to give a chance to join the global
conversation."

Israeli police arrest Leonardo DiCaprio's bodyguards
DPA
Jerusalem, March 13 (DPA) Israeli police arrested two
bodyguards of Leonardo DiCaprio after they became involved
in a fistfight with photographers and cameramen filming
the Hollywood actor's visit to the Old City of Jerusalem,
police said Tuesday.
DiCaprio was ending a visit to the Jewish Western Wall and
Western Wall Tunnels with Israeli girlfriend Bar Refaeli,
late Monday, when he was surrounded by paparazzi, Police
Spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
Local police intervened when a skirmish erupted between
several of the paparazzi and DiCaprio's bodyguards, he

private security company - after they allegedly hit some
of the photographers.
The two were taken to the Jerusalem District police

questioning. Complaints had been filed against them.
DiCaprio, 32, arrived in Israel Sunday and was filmed
speeding straight from Ben-Gurion International Airport to

Rock blames marriage confusion on comedy act
London, March 14 Comic actor Chris Rock thinks
the confusion about the state of his marriage erupted
after he openly said he was bored in his comedy act.
Rock and his wife Malaak have had to defend their marriage
after the reports circulated that they are having
problems. Rock thinks his fans might have been confused
with his comedy routine, where he said he was bored with
his marriage, but says he was just being an honest man.
Contactmusic.com quoted him as saying: "Anything that is
forever is entombment... People make a big deal out of,
'You say marriage is boring.' Everything in America, where
you live in a country where food and shelter aren't your
biggest concerns, bores you after a point. Even sex gets
boring. Any long-term relationship can get boring, even if
it's with your favourite restaurant - because eventually
you're gonna get bored with the food in there."
Rock denied that his marriage was in trouble saying: "It
is extremely hurtful to us, our children and our extended
family. We remain, as always, very happy and committed to
our marriage and the beautiful family that we have built."
