Collette regrets losing out role to Zellweger

Los Angeles, Oct 13 (IANS) Aussie actress Toni Collette says she is still bitter about losing out to Rene Zellweger for the role in "Chicago" because she was promised the part by the producers.
According to Internet Movie Database, Collette was unable to star in the Oscar winning "Chicago" because she was starring in a Broadway play.
Collette says: "I was doing 'Wild Party'. I was offered 'Bridget Jones's Diary' at the time, but couldn't do it because I didn't know how long it was going to play. Then the 'Chicago' lot said, 'We want you to do this, don't take anything else. We want to put you on tape just as a formality. Catherine Zeta-Jones is really excited to work with you.' Then 'Bridget Jones's Diary' came out and I guess the Weinsteins (producers) had their way."
