Clapton upset over wine with his name
DPA
Wellington, Feb 2 (DPA) British guitarist Eric Clapton, who is a
recovering alcoholic, threatened to walk out of a concert at a
New Zealand winery when he saw it had produced a wine bearing
his name on the bottles.
Clapton, the star of the concert at the Mission Estate Winery in
Napier, took the stage only after all the bottles were
withdrawn, the Hawke's Bay Today newspaper reported.
"On legal advice, we elected not to make the wine available for
sale," chief executive Peter Holley told the paper.
Clapton has reportedly funded special clinics to treat drug and
alcohol addicts.
Mission Estate, New Zealand's oldest winery, has released
special wines with labels featuring the star of its annual

Mendes says she is a cheap date
London, Feb 2 Actress Eva Mendes says she is a
cheap date even though she is a high level celebrity and
has high expectations.
Mendes, who is reportedly in a steady relationship with
director George Gargurevich, says she does not tax the
wallet too much but it is difficult to keep her
interested, reports contactmusic.com.
She says: "I'm such a cheap date. But I said cheap, not
easy. I have high expectations. You're probably better off

"Hey, I'm sweet and lovable, but I'm not an intellectual,
let's face it!"

Love not invited as judge for 'American Idol'
New York, Feb 2 Nigel Lythgoe, boss of

Love claims she was contacted by Lythgoe to become a judge
on the show as a possible replacement for Paula Abdul.
Imdb.com quoted her as saying: "He called. He was
wondering if I was interested. I thought it was kind of

they break your heart as you come to love them and watch
them die."
Rourke, in an email, said: "This shop should be closed
down, and as I have learned from my friends at PETA, pet
shops across the country often sell sick animals. So, the

Aniston-Cox laughed at lesbian kiss rumours
London, Feb 3 Jennifer Aniston and her former
"Friends" co-star Courtney Cox shared a kiss on the TV
show "Dirt" and they were so confident that the media
would blow it out of proportion as a lesbian lip-lock that
they placed bets on how long it would take for the first
news to appear.
Aniston recently made a guest appearance on Cox's new show
as a rival magazine editor who is a lesbian and at the end
of the show they shared a goodbye kiss. Aniston told
contactmusic.com that they had a good laugh when the small
kiss became a big deal in the media.
She said: "I think I won a bet. I told Courtney, 'How many
days will it take to come out? 'Lesbian kiss! Lip-lock!'
It was a record - about a week.
"It was touted as a passionate lip-lock. It's a good-bye
kiss! I don't honestly think people want to see Rachel

character in the series) have at it!"

I love calling Tom 'husband': Katie Holmes
New York, Feb 3 Hollywood superstar Tom
Cruise's wife, Katie Holmes, says she is enjoying her
marriage and loves calling Cruise "husband".
"I have a husband and children that I adore. I have a
career that I really love. When I sit back and reflect,
it's wow!" Holmes was quoted as saying by www.Hollywood.tv.
"Tom makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the
world. I love being with him. I love calling him husband."
On their daughter Suri, the former actress said: "I felt
so proud to be having a baby and so excited. And I felt
closer to other women - to my sisters, my mom. I felt
empowered like ... I've given birth. I did it! There's
nothing I can't handle."
For Holmes, motherhood too has been easy to handle. "I've
really enjoyed this time that I have taken to be with Suri
as well as the challenges of the first couple of months -
feeding, learning to decipher what each cry means ... is
she hungry? Is she tired? Does she need a fresh diaper? -
and figuring out how to really help her."
Asked if she wants more kids, Holmes replied with a smile:
"Definitely."
But she does want to get back to films later.
"I have a whole new set of responsibilities. My work is
very important to me and so is my family. When I go to
work, it will be the right thing - worth my time and worth
my time away from my family."
