'ET' named best family movie

London, Dec 25 (IANS) Steven Spielberg's hit 1982 movie "ET", which lost out to "Gandhi" for best picture at the Oscars that year, has been voted the best family movie of all time, says contactmusic.com.
The top 10 movies according to a British TV network Channel 4 are:
1. "ET: The Extra-Terrestrial"; 2. "Shrek"; 3. "Mary Poppins"; 4. "Pirates of the Caribbean"; 5. "Toy Story"; 6. "The Lion King"; 7. "Back To The Future"; 8. "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"; 9. "Star Wars"; 10. "The Wizard of Oz".
Doherty wants to quit drugs to keep Moss

London, Dec 25 (IANS) Troubled rocker Pete Doherty says he will have to beat his drug addiction if he wants to get back girlfriend Kate Moss.
According to ananova.com, Doherty told an interviewer: "While my life revolves around drugs I can't have her in my life. It's as simple as that."
Earlier in the month he had said that Moss dumped him because "I can't buy her diamonds".
Moss completed a five-month rehabilitation centre course at Arizona's Meadow Clinic. She even paid for Doherty to go on the programme but he quit.
Gervais' lottery tickets for Christmas

London, Dec 25 (IANS) British comedian Ricky Gervais buys his family lottery tickets for Christmas.
According to contactmusic.com, Gervais says there is nothing wrong with giving people a bit of luck for Christmas.
He says: "I bought each of (my family) scratch cards worth 10 pounds. One of them won 17 pounds. That was 17 pounds of pure profit! It was a valuable life lesson: some people are winners, some are losers."
Johansson wants another Woody Allen role

London, Dec 25 (IANS) Actress Scarlett Johansson enjoyed working in Woody Allen's latest movie "Matchpoint", so much that she has asked for a part in his next film for Christmas.
Contactmusic.com quoted her as saying that she would happily devote the rest of her acting career to Allen since he is humble and shares her sense of humour.
"All I'd really like under my (Christmas) tree is a part in another Woody Allen movie. I'd work with him the rest of my life. He's shy but always available. Funny. No ego at all," she said.
She added: "And we have the same humour. We badger each other. I love him."
