Hess got Spanish skills from monks
Indo-Asian News Service
London, June 21 (IANS) Filmmaker Jared Hess learnt Spanish skills he needed to direct Mexican wrestling film "Nacho Libre" by spending two years in a Mormon missionary in Venezuela.
According to contactmusic.com, Hess shot his new film, which features all-Mexican cast except for star Jack Black, with a local crew from Oaxaca.
Hess says: "These are real people you could never find in Hollywood. We did all the casting in Mexico City and on location because it was very important to me that we be authentic to his outrageous lucha libre world."
