Cruise's secret visit to Scientology compound

New York, Dec 22 (IANS) Actor Tom Cruise's devotion to Scientology was secretly nurtured at a Southern California desert compound, which took care of his needs 24 hours a day.
According to the Internet Movie Database, Cruise took intensive study and counselling in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He had a personal supervisor to oversee his studies in a private room inside the 500-acre compound.
Bruce Hines, who left Scientology in 2001 after being a member for almost three decades, said: "I was there for eight years and nobody stayed long at all, except for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman during that period."
He also said that Cruise stayed in a bungalow near a golf course and had a special staff to prepare his meals, do his laundry and handle other tasks.
Longoria and Savant to have small screen affair

New York, Dec 22 (IANS) The producers of the hit TV show "Desperate Housewives" have kept their promise to find bigger story lines for the actress Eva Longoria.
According to hollywood.com, the second series sees Longoria seduce Felicity Huffman's onscreen husband Doug Savant. Longoria was furious when she was the only actress not to receive a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the hit series last year. In response to this, the producers promised to script in meatier scenes to showcase her talents.
Savant says: "When we come back, Eva Longoria is kissing me. I had a hellacious day on set with just hours and hours of Eva kissing me."
Clooney wants to be a father

London, Dec 22 (IANS) Actor-director George Clooney has admitted that he would like to get married and have kids next year.
According to ananova.com, Clooney said: "I want to be married with six kids by next year. I want six little sextuplets around but I don't really make New Year's resolutions. I have a pretty good life and I enjoy the things I've been able to do."
Elton calls Madonna 'a miserable cow'

London, Dec 22 (IANS) Singer Elton John thanked all his "fantastic" friends who attended his hen party but he called Madonna a "miserable cow" for not turning up.
According to ananova.com, Elton praised the cabaret as "one of the greatest things in my life" and then said: "Madonna, the miserable cow, wouldn't do it. David asked her three times."
Madonna, a great friend of Elton's, famously fell out with him last year after he accused her of lip-synching at her concerts.
Simpson might be next Bond girl

London, Dec 22 (IANS) Singer Jessica Simpson is the latest name on "James Bond" producer's list after both Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie pulled out of the Bond girl role.
According to contactmusic.com, after both Jolie and Theron refused, the producers are trying to wrangle in Simpson to play the lead role of Vesper Lynd in the new "Bond" film "Casino Royale".
British actor Daniel Craig will take over from Pierce Brosnan to make his Bond debut in the film.
Bobby Brown spoils Christmas show

London, Dec 22 (IANS) Troubled singer Bobby Brown has angered family groups in the US after he said that Santa Claus does not exist on his TV holiday special "Being Bobby Brown: Christmas With The Browns.'
According to contactmusic.com, while carving up a ham and surrounded by his family and friends, Brown said: "Kids, I want to tell you there's no such thing as Santa Claus."
His teenage daughter tried to do damage control and said: "He's just kidding."
Brown then added: "I'm not kidding, there's no Santa Claus," before later exclaiming, "I'm Santa Claus."
