Mayer says he is like Hendrix

London, June 20 (IANS) Singer John Mayer says that he is not taken seriously in the music world because he is too good looking, just like legendary rocker Jimi Hendrix.
According to contactmusic.com, he believes his female fans automatically turn off his potential male fans. He says: "I would love it if my fans were women and men, 50/50. I'd even settle for 60/40.
"Think of Jimi Hendrix. He was huge with women. It's part of the reason he never really got accepted into the black community. It is the same with me! It is the reason I haven't been accepted fully into the musical super-credibility community - the second they see throngs of young women screaming your name, it says, 'You are out, you are out, you are out!"
