Exhibition in honour of Loren

London, April 9 (IANS) Movie legend Sophia Loren has become the first Italian woman to be honoured at the Victor Emmanuel Monument in Rome.

According to contactmusic.com, Loren was in tears as an exhibition was opened in her honour at the monument. 

The actress is the only Italian since 19th century military hero Garibaldi to have an exhibition dedicated to her at this historic site. 

She said: "I have never forgotten my roots".
