Travolta sues hometown airport
Actor John Travolta has filed a lawsuit against the owners of a
Florida airport, claiming they presented incorrect records to
prevent him from landing his plane there.
He is suing Greystone Airport owners James and Christine
Garemore for allegedly lying to the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) in a 2006 report by saying their landing
field could not accommodate large airplanes such as his Boeing
707, reports contactmusic.com
Travolta claims that when he moved to the exclusive 'fly-in'
community of Ocala, Florida, in 2001 he was assured he would be
allowed to land his airplane at the airport.
Michael Ossi, Travolta's lawyer, said: "Mr. Travolta has been
severely mistreated as a consequence of these acts and intends
to vigorously pursue all appropriate legal
recourse against these responsible parties."
The lawsuit is seeking an injunction for the Garemores to
withdraw their 2006 report and to authorise flights as had
previously been permitted.
James Garemore has responded to the legal action, saying, "The
runway is not suitable for heavy aircraft. It is cracking and
breaking. They are bringing this lawsuit against
me and all I was doing was trying to maintain safety here."

The 25-year-old is expected to tell all about her rift with her

Comedienne Silverman regrets making fun of Paris
New York, July 23 Comedienne Sarah Silverman regrets
joking about Paris Hilton's prison term on the eve of her June
jail stint after watching footage of the MTV Movie Awards.
Silverman, who hosted the awards show, joked about Hilton's
prison term, while the hotel heiress sat awkwardly in the
audience. Cameras showed a hurt Hilton as she squirmed in her
seat - just hours before she began her prison sentence for a
probation violation at Century Regional Detention Center.
Imdb.com quoted Silverman as saying: "I thought, 'She's got to
know there's going to be a joke about her', so I went for it.
But then I looked down and saw a man in her face with a camera.
I was there to be funny and I was, but that doesn't mean I can't
feel bad about it."
However, Hilton, who has forgiven the comedienne, admits she
knows Silverman was just trying to land a few laughs.
Hilton said: "She's a funny comedienne and hopefully she won't
be as mean the next time she sees me."
Lohan doesn't believe in rehearsing for roles
New York, July 23 Actress Lindsay Lohan, who is known for
her wild ways, doesn't believe in reading scripts and rehearsing
for her roles.
In the past, Lohan has been criticised by her former co-stars,
including Jane Fonda and William H. Macy, for turning up late on
the sets. Last year, film producer James G. Robinson criticised
her for being "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional"
on the set of "Georgia Rule", reports imdb.com
Lohan admits she doesn't spend too long preparing for film
roles, preferring to avoid rehearsals and stay away from acting
classes.
She said: "I have never taken an acting class. I don't rehearse.
I don't read my lines the night before. Everything is on set."

Harry Potter breaks sales records as Radcliffe celebrates
DPA
London, July 23 Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe marked
his 18th birthday Monday by taking control of a reported fortune
of 20 million pounds ($40.1 million) as publishers confirmed
that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" has already broken
all sales records.
Publishers Bloomsbury in London said J.K. Rowling's seventh and
last Harry Potter novel had sold 2.6 million copies in its first
24 hours, overtaking its predecessor, "Harry Potter and the
Half-Blood Prince", which sold 2 million copies during the same
period.
Bloomsbury described the publication of the final novel last
Friday night as the "most astoundingly successful book launch
ever".
Earlier Monday, reports from the US said that an estimated 8.3
million copies were sold there in the first 24 hours of its
release, according to publisher Scholastic.
Meanwhile Radcliffe, on turning 18 Monday, gained legal access
to the fortune he has made in his seven-year film career as the
boy wizard.
"I know I'm in an incredibly fortunate position," Radcliffe said
according to a report on the BBC, based on an interview with
Australia's Sunday Herald Sun newspaper.
"But I don't plan to be one of those people who suddenly buys
themselves a massive sports car collection," he said.
He was more likely to acquire books, CDs and DVDs, said
Radcliffe.
His agent and publicist Monday declined to comment on
Radcliffe's plans to celebrate, but he had earlier said that he
would "definitely have some sort of party".
