Foxx still haunted by racism
Indo-Asian News Service
New York, Oct 6 (IANS) Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx says he is still haunted by childhood experiences of racism while growing up in Texas.
According to Pagesix.com, Foxx in an interview said, "There are certain aspects of racism that I couldn't deal with then and I don't have to now, like going to the other side of the tracks and getting called a n****r every day. 'Hey, n****r, get out of here. Get out of here, you little monkey, you little n****r' ... To have my friends get death threats and things like that because we were popular in school. I'm not the type to forgive that."
When asked whether he would be facing the same if he grew up there now he said, "It's the same. You're dealing with the South, and it's hard to change tradition."
