Boy George held with cocaine
DPA
New York, Oct 8 (DPA) British singer Boy George, gender-bending former frontman of the 1980s' pop sensation Culture Club, was arrested Friday here on drug charges, reports said.
He was held on suspicion of possessing drugs and also faces a charge of filing a false police report, E!online reported.
Police said that the singer-turned-club DJ, whose real name is George O'Dowd, reported a burglary early Friday at his lower Manhattan flat. Authorities decided that the complaint was unfounded but investigating officers discovered cocaine in the apartment.
George's hits in the 1980s included "Karma Chameleon" and "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me". The 44-year-old was found guilty of heroin possession in 1986 and underwent drug treatment.
