Lee surprised by silence at 'Brokeback Mountain'

London, Feb 1 (IANS) Director Ang Lee is shocked by the silence from religious groups following the release of his gay cowboy romance "Brokeback Mountain".

Contactmusic.com reports, Lee thinks religious protestors have kept their anger quiet because they don't want to give the Oscar nominated movie even more exposure. 

He says: "I didn't know they would take a position of deliberate quietness, so that they wouldn't (inadvertently) promote the movie."
