Iranian film fest for children and youths

Tehran, Sep 29 (IANS) Feature films, short films, videos, documentaries and animated films from 41 countries are to be screened at the 20th Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults opening here Thursday.
Sixty-five short and feature-length films would be screened at the festival that runs until Oct 4, reports Mehr News Agency.
The films to be screened include "Spaghetti in 8 Minutes" directed by Rombod Javan, "The 13th Bridge" by Farhad Gharib, "Requiem of Snow" by Jamil Rostami, "I Saw Your Daddy Last Night, Aida" by Rasul Sadr-Ameli, "The Liar Shepherd" by Sirus Hasanpur etc.
Jury members from several countries, including China, Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran, will judge the 11 feature films in the Asian Cinema section of the event.
Thirteen young adults from Iran, Palestine, Greece, Germany and Italy along with other jury members from Denmark, Canada, Poland and Iran will judge the 16 films vying for prizes in the festival's International Cinema section.
The best children's film produced in the children's cinema category will be selected in the sideline section of the event.
Two ceremonies, one in commemoration of fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen and the other honouring Iranian directors Majid Majidi and Hushang Moradi Kermani, are also to be held during the festival.
The Literature and Cinema Interaction section of the festival will feature some animated films and an educational workshop.
An exhibition of posters for children's films and several meetings on critical analysis of children's cinema will also be held in the sideline section of the festival.
