Britney Spears sells lingerie for Katrina relief

Los Angeles, Oct 5 (DPA) Pop star Britney Spears is auctioning off lingerie in a bid to boost fundraising efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
A jewel-encrusted bra, supposedly worn by the pop star in one of her videos, was part of a collection of 100 items she put up for sale on the Internet site eBay. As of Tuesday morning, 137 bids had shot up the price of the fancy underwear to 10,000 dollars, even though a link connecting the two cups is missing.
The sparkling and skimpy garment comes with a letter of authenticity from Spears' legal counsel. According to the eBay listing there is "a variety of sizes of round white stones and silver-tone beads in this intricately designed bra".
Other items up for sale include a two-piece sofa, shoes, hats, handbags, a T-shirt, jewellery, a pair of red jeans and a set of bar-stools.
Bidding for the items ends Saturday, with all proceeds going to the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund.
