Kannada cinema is witnessing attempts at innovative filmmaking by fresh talent. "Nenapirali", directed by Ratnaja and produced by Ajay Gowda, is one such attempt of which both these young engineering graduates can be really proud.
"Nenapirali" is a feel-good film with all commercial ingredients thrown in, but in tasteful proportions. It has some breathtaking visuals shot in beautiful outdoor settings and scintillating music by veteran Hamsalekha who makes a comeback through this film, as well as lovely performances by all the artistes.
More than all this, however, is the film's emotional quotient. You may not need a handkerchief, but the film has sequences that will touch your heart.
The film deals with the moral and ethical dilemma of the three lead characters. The 'eternal-triangle' story is not unusual, but Ratnaja's narration of it is.
Cameraman H.M. Ramachandra and editor Kemparaj have aptly supported him. The choice of outdoor spots to suit the emotional content of sequences is a distinctly noticeable feature of the film.
Among acting performances, those of Prem, Varsha, Akshay Krishna, and Vidya Venkatesh merit special mention.
"Nenapirali" is a must-see film for quality-conscious viewers.
