Ambareesh returns to silver screen
By R. G. Vijayasarathy
Bangalore, July 22 Kannada film star M.H. Ambareesh, who
is also minister of state for information and broadcasting, is
all set to make a comeback on the silver screen with "Preethi
Eke Bhoomi Melidhe".
Ambareesh quit the central council of ministers in February, but
his resignation is yet to be formally accepted. He apparently
has not yet withdrawn his resignation.
He is now the latest addition to the cast of "Preethi Eke Bhoomi
Melidhe", with actor-director Prem in the lead role.
Ambareesh is also appearing in a song sequence in "Channa",
directed by Umesh, with young Deepak as the hero.
The lyrics of this "pro-Kannada song", as described by the
makers of "Channa", have been penned by C.V. Shivashankar.

Ganesh plays TV anchor in 'Krishna'
Popular Kannada actor Ganesh will be playing a successful
television anchor with a huge fan following in the upcoming film
"Krishna".
Ganesh was an anchor himself before he made it big in the
movies. He hosted the hugely popular "Comedy Time" programme on
Udaya TV and was soon nicknamed 'Comedy Time' Ganesh.
According to industry sources, the film may reflect the
frustrations he suffered during his struggle to find a place in
Kannada cinema.
But neither Ganesh nor the film's director, M.D. Sridhar, have
divulged any details of "Krishna".
Ganesh will be paired with two heroines - Pooja Gandhi and
Sharmila - in the movie produced by Ramesh Yadav.
He had earlier teamed up with Pooja in runaway hit "Mungaru
Male", which made him a big star. His popularity grew further
after the success of two subsequent films - "Hudugaata" and "Cheluvina
Chiththaara".
The music score, which releases Aug 24, has been provided by
Harikrishna.
