Tamil cinema scouting for a child artist

Chennai, May 1  Malayalam director Lohitha Das is looking for a child actor for his next film, which he says will be about "how today's children are brought up" and "the consequences of the upbringing".

"Tamil cinema has no child star now. The film will create one," said Das.

He had earlier directed the critically acclaimed Tamil film "Kasthuriman".

In the past, several child stars like Kutti Pdmini have lit up the Tamil screen. Kamal Haasan, Sridevi and Shalini too started their careers as child artistes and grew up to become big stars..
