Pentamedia Graphics records Q2 income of Rs.200 mn

Chennai, Oct 29 (IANS) Chennai-based entertainment graphics major Pentamedia Graphics Saturday put its total income at Rs.200 million and net profit at Rs.10 million for the second quarter ended Sep 30.
Business highlights in this quarter were in film distribution, animation, visual effects and Web/interactive entertainment, the company said here.
"The distribution of Pentamedia's existing titles has seen a positive response from leading distribution houses of Europe and the US," the company said.
Premium Children's television network Turner Entertainment Network Asia has entered into an agreement with Pentamedia Graphics for existing titles.
Shemaroo Video, a major home video distributor, has also acquired home video rights of Pentamedia titles for DVD/VCD/VHS in India.
Animated feature film "Gulliver's Travel" has been completed and is scheduled for a worldwide release in December. "Tarzan and the Aliens" and "Laika in Space" are under production, the firm said.
Pentamedia's visual effects division has also completed "February 14", noted for its special effects. Visual effect work is also in progress for "Sandaikozhi", "Azhaga Irrukkirai Bayamai Irukku" and "ABCD".
Numtv.com, the company's web streaming portal, offers a bouquet of Indian satellite channels and entertainment related services.
"Numtv.com is in discussion with major broadband distributors and Telco in the US and Europe to increase its penetration," a Pentamedia release said.
