'Lion' tops Malayalam chartbusters

Kochi, Feb 19 (IANS) The Malayalam music scene remains unchanged for the time being. The scenario may change in the coming days, as couple of music-oriented films will hit the screen.
The top five Malayalam songs are:
1. "Sundari onnu"; Film: "Lion"; Music: Deepak Dev; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Udit Narayan and Shwetha.
Dileep is supposedly the only actor in the industry who gives importance to locations for song picturisations. And the picturesque New Zealand in the background enhances the appeal of this song.
2. "Kunninte mele"; Film: "Achanurangatha Veedu"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma; Singer: Jassie Gift.
This is a typical Jassie Gift song with his unconventional voice.
3. "Chirimanimulla"; Film: "Lion"; Music: Deepak Dev; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Afsal and Jyotsna.
The magical combination of Dileep and Kavya Madhavan is well complemented by the singers.
4. "Mele vellithinkkal"; Film: "Tanmantra"; Music: Mohan Sithara; Lyrics: Kaithapram; Singers: Karthik and Meenu.
Aura surrounding the film has helped the longevity of its songs.
5. "Pandimelam"; Film: "Rajamanikiyam"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthenchery; Singer: Pradeep Pallurathy.
This song may be on its way out of this list. But, for the time being, there is nothing to replace it.
