Chennai bike racer to play lead in Tamil film

Chennai, April 23 (IANS) Bike racer Dilip Roger, known for his acrobatics on the racing track, is set to play the male lead in the Tamil film "Odoompen".

"The popular biker will debut in the film, which will also have Ramji S. Balan as the director, scriptwriter and music director," producer Jagannathan told IANS.

Winner of several awards, Roger is set to compete in the German National Championship later this year, publicists said.

Jagannathan said that the film will be shot on location in Tamil Nadu at Karaikkudi, Ramanathapuram, Madurai and Chennai and will be released around the bike racing championship season.

Roger will be the second racer to enter filmdom after multilingual actor Ajith Kumar, who was the formula three car-racer for the 1991 season before entering Telugu films in 1992.
