Pavan-Gogula combo makes 'Annavaram' a prized album
By B. Anuradha,
Hyderabad, Dec 29 The heady combination of actor-composer Pavan
Kalyan and Ramana Gogula has worked its magic again in "Annavaram",
making it the top Telugu album of the fortnight.
The top five Telugu albums are:
1. "Annavaram" - Gogula has gifted another musical hit
for his favourite actor. "Mehabooba" is already a rage among
music lovers.
2. "Rakhi" - Young composer Devisri Prasad reasserts his
place in the top league with the resounding musical hit "Rakhi".
"Zara zara" and "Vasthava vasthava" are topping countdown shows.
3. "Yogi" - After the musical hit "Lakshmi", composer
Gogula teams up with director Vinayak to churn out another hit.
"Gana gana" and "Gichi gichi" stand out among the youthful
tunes.
4. "Maharathi" - Balakrishna's fans have already lapped
it up in a big way and heralded the entry of another talented
composer, Guru Kiran. The title number "Balakrishna Balakrishna"
and "Kamala kucha" are chartbusters.
5. "Sainikudu" - The film's declining collections are
affecting the sales of its audio. Despite thumping numbers like
"Baila mo" and "Go go adhigo", the Harris Jayaraj album cannot
withstand competition.

NTR Junior returns with 'Rakhi'
By B. Anuradha,
Hyderabad, Dec 29 After a few duds, Telugu actor NTR Junior
seems to have made a comeback with sentimental-action flick "Rakhi",
which tops the list.
The top five Telugu films are:
1. "Rakhi" - Even director Krishna Vamsi has come out of
his lean patch with this tale of a vigilante. The first time
actor-director combination seems to have worked.
2. "Sainikudu" - After a great opening, Mahesh Babu's
slick action film is losing its grip and sliding down at the box
office. Director Gunasekar's theme of youth entering politics
hasn't been well received by the audience. Daredevil action
sequences and well-mounted songs, however, manage to draw some
crowd.
3. "Khatarnack" - The much-hyped Ravi Teja-starrer opened
well but soon failed to live up to the expectations. Even lucky
mascot Ileana failed to save it.
4. "Pellaina Kothalo" - After "Samanyudu", actor Jagapati
Babu does another good film that has the potential to turn it
into a big hit. The ego clashes of a young couple are well
crafted but the film needs a huge promotion campaign.
5. "Mayabazar" - National award winning director Mohan
Krishna disappoints with this much-hyped fusion of fantasy and
social drama. Even Bhoomika's charm could not salvage this
poorly made film.
